Our story

Red Archive Studio was born from a passion for preserving history through art. For seven years, we curated Soviet-era posters and Eastern European visual culture — until the world changed in 2022. After relocating from Russia to Sarajevo, we found ourselves in a city that knows firsthand what history feels like when it arrives uninvited. That journey reshaped everything. The propaganda, the cinema, the forgotten graphic art of a world that no longer exists — it deserves to be seen, questioned, and lived with. Red Archive Studio is back. The archive is open. Collector-grade posters sourced from the archives of a vanishing world.

Meet the team

We are Lica and Mary, mother and daugter, working together to bring rare printed history to people who appreciate it.

Lica — Founder & Collector

Across Three Countries, One Obsession
Born in the USSR, lived in Russia and the United Kingdom, and ultimately drawn to the most quietly extraordinary country in the world: Bosnia and Herzegovina. Along the way, an academic career spanning every level of education — from school to university — gave way to something more compelling than any institution could offer.
A single vintage poster changed the trajectory.
When not sourcing mid-century graphic design:
- Running and practising yoga against the backdrop of Sarajevo's hills.
- Exploring the depth of local cuisine with genuine dedication.
- Hunting rare Soviet-era prints and theatrical playbills — objects that carry history in their fibres, and stories worth telling.
This studio exists at the intersection of provenance and design. Welcome.

The Artist & Motion Designer Maria — From the Concert Hall to the Digital Canvas
Maria's relationship with rhythm began at four years old. Over the following twelve years, she built a serious career as a classical pianist — disciplined, precise, and deeply attuned to structure. Then she chose a different kind of composition.
Graduating with honours from the Saint Petersburg Art School, she brought the rigour of a musician to the craft of motion design and painting — two disciplines that, in her hands, are not so different.
- A classical training that informs every visual decision.
- A practice built on rhythm, restraint, and the occasional bold departure.
- Work that moves — because it was made by someone who understands movement.
If something in this collection stops you, Maria is likely the reason.
