The central figure is a majestic woman — a personification of Lithuania — rendered where Soviet Socialist Realism meets Baltic folk tradition. She holds a large amber necklace with each bead featuring iconic symbols of Soviet Lithuanian industry and culture: sailing ships, tractors, traditional architecture. Her golden crown, flowing patterned sash, and Lielvārde belt-style skirt are typical of Baltic folk costume. The Lithuanian SSR flag and a stylised Gediminas Tower complete the composition.

The Russian verse at the bottom translates as:
“And today, as in the days of old,
The sea gives amber to Lithuania…
The flowering of all her talents
It carries to a free Lithuania.”
